CCTV9英语新闻：我国首部深海法保护深海海洋环境和资源
中国有了首部保护深海海洋环境和资源的法律——深海海底区域资源勘探开发法（下称深海法）。深海法于周五在2月26日召开的全国人大常委会第十九次会议闭幕会上获高票通过。
China now has its first law to protect the deep seafloor environment. It was passed on Friday by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
The legislation says the government encourages international cooperation on the exploitation and surveys of deep seafloor resources, but only after assessment on the environmental impact. And any maritime project must be carried out with the precondition not to harm the ecosystem. The law goes into force on May 1st.
