Dutch company Mars One has announced its intentions to establish a settlement on Mars in 2023 with the arrival of its first inhabitants. Four astronauts have agreed to live there for the rest of their lives.

In 2022, the crew will take a 7 months trip to Mars and settle in to their new home. Every two years after that, another group will join the settlement, and by 2033 there will be 20 people living on Mars.
