It's Day four of the Olympic Games. China is now leading the medal table with eight gold, three silver and six bronze medals. The latest gold medals come from weightlifting. Shi Zhinyong won the third weightlifting gold medal for China with a total of 352 kilograms in the men's 69 kilograms category. On the women's side, Deng Wei won the 63 kilograms category. She reached a total of 262 kilograms in just five lifts, breaking both jerk and total world records by one kilo each.

Also on Monday, Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia won the women's synchronized 10 meter platform. The pair finished with 354 points. It's the fifth consecutive time for China to win the event. China have won all three diving finals so far at the Rio Games. China also took bronze in a thrilling final for the women's team all-around in gymnastics. The US claimed the gold and Japan won silver.
