Two farmers who pretended to be UN officials and attempted to get a prisoner released were detained on site, Xiaoxiang Morning Herald reported Tuesday.
The farce occurred in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture in central China's Hunan province on Saturday, when the two used fake UN identification and a forged release warrant signed by "Chinese President". One of the two men was trying to get his relative out, who still faces about seven years of imprisonment.
