During Li's visit, he is scheduled to meet with German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier and attend the annual China-Germany prime ministers' meeting.
Li and Merkel will also be present at a China-Germany innovation forum.
The premier will then pay a visit to Belgium.
Li is scheduled to attend the 19th China-EU leaders’ meeting in Brussels, and to take part in a China-EU business summit and a dialogue on innovation cooperation. Li is also set to meet King Philippe of Belgium and hold talks with Prime Minister Charles Michel.
Li’s visit is part of several high-level China-EU meetings to be held this year, aiming to consolidate cooperation between China and Europe.
