The International Monetary Fund says China has made a major step forward in compiling official economic statistics. China subscribed to the IMF special Data Dissemination Standard, or SDDS, Wednesday.
China's central bank said in a separate statement that adopting the SDDS would help expose economic realities for the country, as well as providing a timely and accurate basis for policy-making.
